Vivere all’ombra del SUMMIT non è cosa da poco, ma il VANTAGE si mostra pronto alla sfida, “concentrando” le tecnologie innovative ad alta risoluzione XStat, AirFrame e PowerForce in un diffusore di prezzo e dimensioni sorprendentemente piccole.
Capace di rivelare ogni minimo dettaglio della musica registrata con la massima accuratezza, il telaio ultrarigido AirFrame ed il trasduttore elettrostatico curvilineo XStat restituiscono una comportamento musicale magico che stabilisce nuovi standard d’ascolto per dinamica, precisione, e dimensionalità della scena sonora. Tutto questo da un panello elettrostatico estremamente compatto.
Bassi sorprendentemente potenti ed accurati grazie anche al woofer Poweredforce con cono da cm 20 in alluminio, all’amplificatore ad alta risoluzione da 200 watt ed al preciso controllo acustico esercitato dal cabinet. Infine, è sufficiente agire sul comando di equalizzazione a 35 Hz per calibrare con precisione le note basse ed ottimizzare l’integrazione ambiente/diffusori.
Personale specializzato realizza tutti i crossover del VANTAGE solo coi migliori componenti e le tecniche più accurate, per garantire al segnale il percorso più pulito e più preciso. Altre caratteristiche del VANTAGE sono gli elementi del telaio in alluminio estruso, l’impiallacciatura in vero legno applicata a mano e la finitura in lacca multistrato.

Duette is the latest Special Applications product from Wilson Audio. It was designed to offer the timbral neutrality, dynamic response, soundstage depth, and transparency of floor-standing Wilson loudspeakers, but to do so in environments (such as against walls or in bookshelves) which are intrinsically hostile to all of those qualities. Then, it was given a dual personality so that it could succeed as a stand-mounted loudspeaker as well.

Le Xen raccolgono una lunga eredità di diffusori di piccole dimensioni, originariamente ideati per applicazioni broadcast, riuscendo a soddisfare sia le necessità degli audiofili esigenti che dei professionisti.
E per i piccoli diffusori definiscono anche gli standard, con la loro potenza, la loro vividezza e la loro immagine olografica. Il cabinet, dalla costruzione complessa, è formato da acciaio con materiali di smorzamento estremamente efficaci, in modo da ottenere una struttura robusta ed acusticamente inerte, considerate anche dimensioni del diffusore. Sulla parte frontale sono poste due aperture di largo diametro, ottimizzate al computer, per assicurare un ottimo accoppiamento con il driver dei bassi per la massima flessibilità nella disposizione in ambiente e per eliminare del tutto le non linearità dovute al ristretto fluire dell’aria agli alti livelli.
Le due aperture garantiscono piena libertà dinamica e coerenza a qualsiasi volume. Il crossover, dalle specifiche molto generose, è formato da induttori avvolti in aria, a mano, e da condensatori Solen.
Il pannello posteriore comprende due coppie di morsetti d’ingresso Scorpion, placcati in oro, per l’accesso individuale alle due sezioni del crossover, una soluzione che consente di ricevere i massimi benefici dalla tecnica del bicollegamento.
Altoparlanti high-end di produzione scandinava completano il quadro. Ragguardevole il grosso blocco magnetico, completamente schermato, del driver dei bassi, con cestello in lega presso fusa, mentre il tweeter impiega magneti schermati al neodimio, ad alto flusso.

Leema Acoustics’ latest mini-monitor is called the Xero, and promises extensive improvements at no extra cost. In fact, they’re £330 cheaper, says David Price...
The little Leema Xens were one memorable highlight of last year’s bleak winter. At just £1,000 (less one pound) they provided a superb, classic mini monitor sound in the vein of the Rogers LS3/5a and Harbeth HL-K3ES. Hardly surprising really, as Leema Acoustics was formed by two ex-Beeb engineers, Lee Taylor and Mallory Nichols.
Indeed, the latter was involved in the manufacturing of MAGTRAX monitors for recording studios and mastering companies from the early nineties and Lee Taylor, the recipient of BAFTA and Palme d’Or awards, is experienced in recording and mixing for television, music and film.
In short, although the company is a young one, the Xero’s designers are old hands – and its shows when you plug them in.... Whereas the £999 Xen was the company’s first loudspeaker, the £670 Xero is its third, and is essentially a downsized Xen – and unusually these days, Leema has seen fit to pass on the price saving of the slightly smaller cabinets and simpler construction.
The Xen used a hybrid steel and wood cabinet with metal front baffle, whereas the Xero employs a more conventional all wood affair. It’s slightly smaller at 220x140x206mm and lighter at 10kg (still a lot for a speaker of this size). Although the Xen’s metal front baffle looked beautiful, certainly the Xero doesn’t seem any less well built and appears just as robust. Internally, there is extensive damping from a double layer of bitumastic lining.
The Xeros feature a 1-inch (25.5mm approx.) Vifa Tymphany fabric dome tweeter that uses high-flux neodymium magnets and ferro-fluid damping, plus a new bespoke 100mm magnetically screened mid-bass driver marked ‘Leema Acoustics’. The crossover uses hand-wound air-cored inductors, high quality capacitors and PCBs with thinner multi track copper, rather than a typical fatter single layer. Whereas the Xen ran two semirestrictive bass ports on the front baffle, the Xero has a single, fluted, rear mounted, free flowing 25mm affair. Just above this is a block of bi-wireable binding posts with gold plated links. The wood veneer was of excellent quality and comes in a choice of Cherry, Birds Eye Maple, Ebony or Black Ash.

Occupano uno spazio sul pavimento simile alle Xen, ma sono diffusori a colonna da pavimento. Le Xone restituiscono una riproduzione sonora impareggiabile musicale, precisa, liquida con una articolazione della gamma bassa superba e energica. Impatto,velocità ed estensione fanno della gamma bassa un riferimento assoluto.
In collaborazione con la Seas, Leema ha sviluppato un altoparlante per la sezione bassi personalizzato e schermato utilizzando nuovi materiali in fibra di vetro compositi in grado di riprodurre una eccezionale e dettagliata gamma media. Usati in configurazione due vie e mezzo. Cavi di cablaggio NORDOST a filamenti-Mono sono impiegati internamente sia per il crossover che per Leema’s ‘Multi-track PCB’ già usato nelle Xen EVO3.
