Audio Research is one of the oldest continually operating manufacturers in American audio.The company was founded in 1970 in Minneapolis with one goal in mind: to advance the state-of-the-art in music reproduction.

A research-only facility has also been established in Palm Desert, California.

Situated just outside Montréal, the Classé facilities are headquarters for design, manufacturing and administration. Chairman Mike Viglas, at the helm of Classé for more than twenty years, began his involvement as an audiophile customer who fell in love with the original Classé amplifiers, designed by founder David Reich.
